ChAOS - Racer

Umm... Not to sure if this is the same group that debuted in the beginning of the year. I think this was a drastic change for them. They go for the clean, cute, and innocent look to the dirty, beat up, manly look. They could have gone under another name and I would not have known that they were the same people. I can't compare the songs because they are completely different from one another. Maybe they noticed that the bad boy thing is more in style for rookie groups let us see what mess these guys have done.

First, I want to compare their looks from their two video because really they did have a complete makeover. It was even hard for me to find who is who because they look so different and the fair covering their face didn't help at all. It took me a while but here are the members. I was even surprised how much some of them changed. It is surprising how much a look can change by make up, hair color, and bruises. But wait, where did they get all the bruises? Maybe they got jumped for being too cute and funky in "She's Coming" and that is why they got a complete makeover.
Why are you too serious now?

You seem angry singing this time around?

What happened to all the smiles?

Did you lose your glasses?

Don't give me that glare I didn't do anything.

A second point I want to get to is the description for the video. WHAT? Wait what does all this nonsense mean. Here is what they say,
"The 'macho idols' ChAOS is back!!
Their comeback as racers with their first mini-album after a 5-month break!
The title song for ChAOS' first mini-album catches our ears as it starts out with the BMP picking up speed in the introduction as though marking the beginning of a race. The strong beats and selectric synth loop lead the atmosphere of the song in harmony with the voices of the members of ChAOS.
"Racer" sings of the determination of a man to possess everything about a girl who has fatal charm by racing towards her, likening it to a racer who doesn't stop"
Can someone explain what this is saying? And when did they get the name macho idol and how? When I think of macho that means strong and manly. And well these guys kind of lack in that area. I think that name would fit 2PM better. I like how they saw "catches our ears" and not the listeners because by saying "our" that is referring to Leon Music signifying that the song is catchy to Leon Music who is not important in this matter but the listeners who are going to by their music. I like how they are making up words to, "selectric." Actually I think that was a typo but they can't double check? They even try to explain the lyrics but it doesn't make sense. So by messing up there the lyrics to me mean lost and confusion because they couldn't even explain it correctly. Come on Leon Music get a translator or get an English speaker to double check your grammer.

Okay now to the actual video. They must have had fun playing with all that paint and getting it everywhere. They don't care about where they get paint. But I find it weird that they are painting everything that you aren't suppose to paint. There aren't any walls or art boards around so they find and use everything else around to get paint on. What was the point of getting all the paint in the first place? They get it all over tires, mirrors, the floor, bikes, guitars, punching bags, and themselves.

Maybe the inner kid got the best of them because there is no limit to all the paint they use. Good thing because they were contacted by U-Kiss to get paint all over their room and couch. U-Kiss got ChAOS to make a mess so can have a cleaner look. But what U-Kiss didn't anticipate was that ChAOS would use the same concept but make it 10 times cooler. So this was a win win for ChAOS.

I think one of the reasons for using paint is a way to release anger. Just look at Dongmin sitting on his ladder playing the guitar. But what you don't know because the song was playing over it was that Dongmin actually can't play the guitar. In so much frustration of his inability to play he throws it into the paint. He was lucky that a pile paint was directly underneath and he was able to relief some of that anger. And then he picks up his now blue guitar to try to play with it again. One day he'll get it.

I think paint is the way to go when you are angry. Another example is Doohwan. He is there exercising with his punching bag but that isn't enough to satisfy his anger, what you need it paint. Paint will make it seem more life like. Tell me you wouldn't prefer a punching bag that spurts out paint each time you punch it. And because these guy like getting painted on it is a plus.

I appreciate Hyunsun using the tires to make art. I like a person who is thinking about the environment. He knows that tires don't decompose so he take it upon himself to use it as art. I guess he also knows that we are wasteful and though his art he is trying to make a statement to not be crazy and wasteful of our junk and to think twice before throwing something away. Or he just felt like throwing paint on tires for no reason. Who knows?

One thing I don't like about the video is that everyone is having fun with the paint and spray paint getting it everywhere like getting in touch with their inner kid but Hyunsun just needed to pull out a gun. I thought this was all fun and games but then this one guy just needed to get his gun out. I think he is just trying to show off his gun that he bedazzled himself. I guess this is show and tell.

Overall I do like this song a lot, better than "She's Coming" and I even like their looks. I am hooked on the song now listening so many times doing this review. I just didn't like the drastic change. Maybe next time they will make a slow transition and not surprise me out of no where because I seriously could have thought they were a different group if they had a different name.
