Wow one of my favorite rookies made a comeback. They did not disappoint with their new song. The video was not as story based as "Face"but it does have a meaning behind it, trying to escape or break away from the norms or following others. I like NU'EST for this reason they have meanings behind their songs...also very catchy songs. One thing I am sad about is that they couldn't change Ren's image. I feel they made him more into a girl but this rant will be continued later on.
Going on about the idea of escape each member had their own obstacles to escape. First is Aron trying to escape a jungle gym. He kind of seems scared to be honest looking around not knowing where to go. I don't think he knows how to play in a jungle gym even though he should he been exposed to one in elementary school during recess. He has muscles but that does nothing to help him escape the sparks, fire, and bars.
Minhyuk is bored of being in him room of ruins. Just look at him he's playing with the dirt doing nothing. I have no doubt that there is a way to escape. Also how did he even get there? Even if he got lost how do you end up in a place like that? I think that would be the last place I would go.
Now we got JR being held by a bunch of strings. When I saw this it reminded me of the Movie Saw where people need to escape a weird contraption. I felt like if he were to tug on any he would get hurt or be bleeding from somewhere to understand what it means to live. But that wasn't the case he was just staring at the camera giving fierce faces. Kind of in a mocking way. How do he even get trapped like that? Because it not even one or two strings holding him but a whole bunch. I think they made him unconscious to be able to do that, that's the only explanation.
Ren well was to suffer looking at himself stand on a small stage at the end of a run way. Come on Pledis really. That is the only thing you could think of. I think Pledis don't even know that he's a boy yet. They decided to match the video of escape they decide to give him handcuffs. Handcuffs that he could easily escape from. So basically I think he is stuck with this feminine image and that is what he is trying to escape from. That my only explanation.
The only different one aside from Ren is Baekho. The only thing he is doing is singing into megaphones. I think the idea behind this room is being able to voice your opinion and not being afraid of it. But I think it was really different and random from the other rooms and traps. He's not even trapped, he can easily just walk on by.
Though the way the escape was pretty sad. All they did was break handcuffs that were already broken, get up and walk away, and just tug one the strings to break free. I was excepting something more memorable like breaking the mirrors, walking through fire, or getting hurt but enduring the pain to escape. That would be more fitting but no they gave us nothing. I shouldn't even be considered to be an escape.
I like the outfits when they are dancing in front of the jungle gym, very loose and fun clothing. I don't just say that because when they jump you can see something revealed. OHHH! Just kidding but I do like the outfits but the shiny one when they are in the white room the picture in the beginning cool and flashy but I don't like it.
"Oh Ren." Or should I say "Oh stylist and video director." In "Face" it was very clear that they wanted Ren to have a girly image but did they still need to do that. The kept the long blonde hair, they found it necessary to put a pick necklace on him, and they even have his hair blown by the wind which is usually something they do for only girls. However, because I have this constant idea that Ren is a girl I was surprised to see that he has arm muscles. Too bad they only show one arm.
One last thing about cloths is the return of the spiky hand gloves. The gloves is what gives JR such great charisma.
Okay so the dance break in "Face" I felt was fitting and a good change of pace and blended well. I can't say the same for "Action." It caught me off guard. I was really get into the song feeling the vibe and nodding my head in approval but than "YEAAAAAHHHHH!" blurts out all of a sudden. I think it didn't fit the song at first but after a few more listens I got use to it. If they were to do the dance break again they should have done a new and different dance but it seems similar to "Face." The one dance move I want to point out was the middle one doing the quick hand movement it was exactly the same. Was this a way to cut do on practice time. I don't know. Also if you look closely Aron is a second behind during the dance, just saying. Couldn't they do the dance again to make sure they were in sync?
I didn't want to put it but I thought it was necessary. Don't they look like a cute couple. Someone who is not use to K Pop would be surprised to see this and not think couple. They could have done this so many other ways but they chose to put them facing each other in a close range. Seems a little wrong.
So that is it for my rant on NU'EST, mainly Ren. More to come soon to make sure I review all the great and funny videos that have come out and to not be attacked by more videos.
Couple pic!! XD Is it just me or does Ren look like a blonder, more feminine G-Dragon(his hairstyle in the Fantastic Baby and Bad Boy mvs)? XD
